We are seeking a highly dedicated Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team within Steelmaking Area.

As a successful candidate, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring stable operations of our Steelmaking Plant covering BOS, Concast and Semi Finished Products here at Scunthorpe - identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing innovative solutions. You’ll also ensure the highest standards of efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure Safe and Stable Operations: Maintain our operational plant to guarantee safety and stability.
• Compliance: Adhere to health, safety and environmental regulations, as well as industry standards.
• Enhance Performance: Develop and implement strategies to boost performance, minimise downtime, and increase productivity.
• Drive Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to spearhead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor and Evaluate: Assess the effectiveness of changes and ensure they meet our high standards.
• Root Cause Analysis: Analyse performance issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Support and Mentor: Provide technical support, training, coaching, and mentoring to team members.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Time-served or apprentice-qualified engineer with proven experience in a similar role within the steel manufacturing industry.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities and proficiency in data analysis and process optimisation tools.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with safety regulations and engineering standards.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Certifications: IOSH, NEBOSH
• Specialised Knowledge: Experience with Crane operations, LEAN Six Sigma, RCA, PPM, DMAIC
