What you need to know about the role
This is an exciting opportunity to gain extensive training and experience with a leading steel manufacturer. Initially you will be part of a cohort of Manufacturing Trainees who will receive a comprehensive and structured training programme consisting of both on and off the job training. This will help you develop your manufacturing knowledge and personal skills ultimately allowing for transition into Operator roles.
You will become part of a proactive manufacturing team, working towards production targets and ensuring the highest health and safety standards are maintained throughout. As a business we believe that Health and Safety is our number one priority and as such you will receive a significant amount of training in this area to ensure you have the highest level of knowledge to maintain a safe working environment.
Manufacturing Operational tasks include but are not limited to;
Your role delivers significant business value, and as you progress through the programme the levels of responsibility has the potential to increase. This is a fantastic programme for individuals that want to work within the steel industry gaining relevant training and experience to meet individual and business needs.
The starting salary for this role is £18,750, rising to up to £21,500 in Year 2 and, dependant on the achievement of key milestones and skills, this will rise again after Year 2 to a maximum of £25,000. You will also receive up to 30% shift allowance (dependant on shift system worked).
What we need to know about you
We are looking for highly motivated, flexible, reliable and enthusiastic individuals to join our varied and diverse teams across the Scunthorpe site. These are shift based roles (including weekend working) therefore you must be aged 18 years or over in order to satisfy the legal requirement for shift working.
You would have ideally achieved GCSE Maths and English Language to level 4 (grade C) or above or have achieved Functional Skills level 2 in English and Maths. Basic IT skills would be of benefit.
It is essential that you have a full and valid driving licence (motorbike or car) as this is a requirement for mobile plant training. Any relevant experience preferably working with mobile plant would also be of benefit.
You need to be able to work well within a team and possess excellent communication skills, be willing to learn and have a drive to succeed
